MilanSetu

Terms of Service

Last updated 27 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("MilanSetu", "we", "us") for the MilanSetu mobile application and the services offered through it. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

1. What MilanSetu is

MilanSetu is a matrimonial service operated in partnership with registered marriage bureaus. Members submit a biodata, a bureau reviews and publishes it, and introductions are made through that bureau. We are an introduction platform. We are not a marriage broker, a background-check service, or a party to anything that happens between two families after an introduction.

2. Who may use it

3. Your account

Your account is created when your registration is submitted, and it stays closed until your bureau accepts your biodata and your membership fee is received. You are responsible for what is done through your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell your bureau at once if you think someone else has it.

Everything on your biodata must be true — age, marital status, education, occupation, income, family details and photographs included. A biodata that misleads other members is the single most serious thing you can do here, and it is grounds for us closing your account without a refund.

4. The membership fee

5. What you may not do

6. How your biodata is shared

Your biodata is visible to your bureau and, once published, to other members within the bureau network. Your phone number and address are not shown to other members. Contact happens through the bureau, which is what lets either side step back without having handed over their personal details. What you choose to share directly with someone after an introduction is between you and them.

7. Notices, suspension and closing an account

Your bureau or our staff may attach a notice to your account, which you will see when you sign in. A notice on its own is only a message — you carry on using the app as normal.

We may also block an account, which stops it being used. We do this where a biodata appears to be false, where a member has been reported for harassment or for asking others for money, where a payment is disputed, or where we are required to. When we block an account we tell you so at sign-in. Blocks are lifted by your bureau, so please contact them.

You may close your account at any time by asking your bureau. We will stop publishing your biodata; see the Privacy Policy for what we keep afterwards and for how long.

8. What we do not promise

We do not verify the truth of what members write, beyond the checks your bureau carries out. We do not run criminal-record or financial checks. We do not promise a match, and we do not promise the app will always be available — we take it down for maintenance from time to time.

Please make your own enquiries before committing to anything. Meeting families, verifying documents and taking advice are your responsibility, and they matter more than anything a profile says.

9. Our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for the conduct of any member or bureau, for anything that happens at or after an introduction, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the membership fee you have paid us.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.

10. Our content

The MilanSetu name, logo, app and design are ours. What you upload stays yours — you give us permission to show it to your bureau and to other members for as long as your profile is published, which is what the service does.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. When we do, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you in the app. Continuing to use MilanSetu after a change means you accept it.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [CITY], [STATE] have exclusive jurisdiction. Please raise any complaint with your bureau first, and then with us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] — most things are settled far faster that way.
